It's as easy as ABC.
Justin and Angela Rothwell are the extraordinary team which
oversees the terrific team of swimmers, coaches and members, at
ABC Swimming.
The husband and wife, proud parents of two children themselves,
understand the virtues, principles and proper supervision for
children and youth to the ever-growing and expanding
academy at three top quality centres - at Liverpool,
Guildford and Ashfield.
Justin, 33, is now a well established coach and a young man who
intends to further his already impressive credentials and
career as a fulltime professional swim coach. As a youth Justin
was a national level competitor and swam at Olympic Games
trials and he and was tutored by current Australian and
Olympic head coach Alan Thompson. In fact, following his
swimming days, Justin cemented his desire to become a coach
with Thompson remaining a mentor, today. Justin believes in not
only coaching the swimmer, but also ensuring the person
develops in a wholistic approach. The swimmer not only attains
better talents and abilities but also learns about their
character, the powers and and capacities of their minds and to
help equip them for life's everyday challenges when their
swimming days are over. Justin's swimming CV makes compelling
reading. He is the current president of the ASCTA NSW Coaches
Association. Justin firmly believes in also helping teach the
coaches who in turn develop the boys and girls at the ABC
Swimming academies. Between 2002-2006, Justin, was head coach
of the NSW swimming team and over the past five years has
worked at the national event camps with Australian teams. In
2006, Justin, was a member of the Australian Commonwealth Games
team in Melbourne. His coaching career is one which has
traversed both on domestic and international waters.
''I believe in coaching the person so he or
she can be the best they can be in and out of the pool,''Justin
Rothwell said.
''Angela and myself tailor programs to suit
the boys and girls relevant ages, skills, abilities and
learning capacities.
''Overall, our motto is to make the learning
environment, fun, relaxing, enjoyable but also
educational.''
Angela Rothwell, a proud mother, has an
extensive swimming background including managing leisure and
aquatic centres. She is also a fully qualified trainer and
presenter with the Royal Life Saving Society in Resusitation
and Bronze Medallion. Angela is also a trainer and presenter
forAustswim, the Australian Courses in
Babies, Children, Adults, Disabled and Competitive strokes. The
articulate and affable Angela is also a Bronze level
accredited swim coach and qualified life guard. Angela also
looks after the babies and young children swim programs and
when the swimmers are considered to have progressed to the next
level, Justin, then takes over their programs by placing them
into squads for specialised training.
One of the most important aspects of ABC Swimming is
the learn to swim programs before the swimmers, who are
identified, enter the squad programs.
Water safety, saving lives, teaching
children the importance of safe swimming practises, aquatic
education are the hallmarks of Justin and Angela Rothwell's
philosophies.
Together, Angela and Justin, make a
formidable professional team, along with their bevvy of
qualified male and female coaches at the Liverpool, Guildford
and Ashfield, ABC Swimming centres of excellence.
